[POEM] SKY WITH ME

by: Desislava
(English Club Member from Bulgaria)

I'm leaving home - going out
and my thoughts are wondering about.
Walking along so many streets
seeing places where lovers meet.
Thinking about the past days
which were shined by the sunrays.
Days, full of light and joy changed by the dark times -
I realised I was just a toy -
Is this a revenge for my crimes?

The sky's full with grey clouds
and I'm just passing through the crowds
There's noone I know -
noone I can trust in this human flow.
I really miss you darling
I long for your face - so charming.
I realised your endless insolence
but i'm weak and full of impotence.
I saw you - you were quite surprised
that I just left - with you complied.
I didn't try to give it back
like I suffer from a feelings' lack.
It's not like this - believe
but i want your happiness to achieve.
And if it's written to be from me so far away
I will leave - with no delay

It started raining -
a quiet sound the drops were making.
As my heart from mourn was dying
the sky with me was sadly crying.

[WOTD] DOYEN

1 : the senior or most experienced member of a group
2 : the oldest example of a category

Example sentence:

A "doyen" can be a leader of a group, such as a diplomatic corps. In this regard, the word has been used to refer to someone who is specifically or tacitly allowed to speak for that group. More broadly, a "doyen" refers to a highly skilled and respected veteran of a particular field. The feminine form of "doyen" is "doyenne."

[GRM] HOW TO WRITE THE DATE

How to Write the Date in English

There are several different ways to write the date in English. They vary from formal to informal, and there are differences between British and American English. The following table shows some typical formats.

British: Day-Month-Year
14th March 1999
14 March 1999
14/3/1999
14/3/99
14/03/99

Tips:
Note that another format exists which writes the date numerically in the order Year-Month-Day, for example: 1999/03/14. This is rare in British or American English and used mainly in very official or technical documents.
